it is a historical fact that macawiis originated in South asia/South East Asia. macawiis itself is a loan word. it wasn't even worn by non coastal somalis until like 100 years ago. macawiis is worn by asians as pajamas yet dhiIos like yourself wear it as formal wear and are proud of it.
