Shafi, Hanbali, Hanafi and Maliki are followed by the Salafi as they fall under the category of the first 3 generations. They tend to favour the Hanbali though who was the strictest in interpretation.

The Ottomans introduced many unislamic laws, they decriminalised homosexuality, revoked Jizya and apostasy law and even outlawed slavery which continued in Arab/Muslim countries till the 60s. The Ottoman Empire, in my opinion, was a force for good.

Bro dont let people of today taint the word salaf. The meaning of it is a great thing. The correct path. Just because a bunch of nutjobs and fat saudi weirdos try to take the name salaf hostage.
