North/ North West to become wetter. Currently, the water of somalia are cold so no real rain, and the wind takes them parallel across coast

but now it will be warm and bring rain

What does this mean for us? Our environment will become more savannah like and less arid?

I'm no expert but I think a good chunk of southern somalia could successfully reverse desertification to a substantial degree even without much extra rainfall and proper infrastructure.

Yes, more rain would mean we would be able to become more like south Sudan with green. also there would be more permeant rivers, in the north too.

Imagine north California, but all over Somalia. Puntland especially would stop being a dusty area

That would be great for us! This will be quite far in the future though. I bet I'll be gone by then. I think we could start creating similar manmade results though. I hear we have a lot of ground water in the North. At the very least, most of the south could have that sort of climate with proper care. The neglect is what has sped up desertification. Again I really am not educated throughly in the topic. This is just what I think.

Puntland in its "dusty" form is beautiful. The only thing missing from Puntland is better urban planning, trees, and infrastructure. We don't need to be green to have a beautiful land. We already have a very diverse landscape from Mudug to Sanaag.

Puntland is comparable to Arizona, California, and New Mexico all states with great outdoors and national parks. Southern Somalia is so green and can't even contribute to national food security.

I agree. Puntland has great sights and would make a great tourism spot. But more water would certainly be a good thing. I think Puntland will always (in the near future) be a little "dusty" because of the harsh drying winds blowing in from the middle east. I think a lot of the regions biggest cities have come very far since my mother lived there. But, the planning doesn't seem great from what I hear? What's up with that? Is it not standardised by the government?

Though Southern Somalia cannot contribute to national food security due to t£rr0rism right? I am not well versed on the subject but doesn't AS occupy the most fertile regions?

Puntland does not face water scarcity but rather challenges in management, service delivery inefficiencies, and insufficient investment in distribution. The region has abundant groundwater and aquifers to meet its needs.

What causes these management issues? Puntland is semi autonomous so I figured they wouldn't have these issues as much. Is it their own govts fault or the FGS?

Puntland was MEANT to be plains and have more greenery just look at older pics of PL that were coloured and it showed how green it was the reason puntland became more "Sandy" is cause of unchecked grazing, I read a old source that spoke about how clans in Bari had a grazing system in place to maintain the greenery and agriculture, this proves that locals in PL way back then were aware of the effects of unchecked grazing and made sure to regulate it I guess later on down the line they stopped doing that practice and hence PL seems a lot more "Arid" nowdays.
