I know that. I'm talking the difference between the version of a Somaliweyn under one leader, and a the version of Somaliweyn made up of an alliance between Somali states.

If we had a US model it would work but the clan stuff runs too deep and that's why I prefer splitting. Otherwise a beautiful, powerful country would be a great.

Merka, Siyad and pretty much that whole government are dead.

Other regions are prepared for secession, most of them any way. There's hardly any nationalists left, just people who have clan ties to more than one region.

Too much has happened and too little has been done to rectify it and I mean that for everyone.

That wouldn't solve anything. If Somalis learned how to share power then it wouldn't matter who would be the president of the country.

The clans in the north found a way to run a country together. The clans in the south have to figure out how they want to run their country.
