Somalia will not be a safe haven if WW3 kicks off

Imagine living in Somalia when World War III breaks out. You wake up to the news of World War III, take a quick peek out the window, and see people screaming and running around like headless chicken, hunting for food. Panic spreads quickly, looting becomes widespread, armed thugs take control of food markets. Chaos and lawlessness take over the streets.

Even though the war will be on another continent, the impact it would have on Somalia would certainly be cataclysmic. Being heavily reliant on foreign aid doesn't bode well during major global crises. An already dysfunctional country, poorly governed, now has to fend for itself. Millions of people who haven't recovered from the civil war are let loose on the streets. Those who were kept in control are now roaming the streets doing whatever they feel like.


I don't think the government has ever considered making plans for scenarios like this. Many people think the country will be a safe haven because it's far away from nuclear power countries, but it will be the opposite of a safe haven. Desperate for food and basic necessities, people will do anything to survive. I really hope this day never comes.

Recently, there have been reports about China preparing to invade Taiwan. The thing is the world relies heavily on Taiwan for semiconductors it's such a small island, yet it produces roughly 50% of the world's supply. China is particularly dependent, buying about 60% of the semiconductors Taiwan produces.

About a week ago, news broke that China is preparing to invade Taiwan. Then, a few days later, reports emerged that China is investing $47.5 billion to boost its semiconductor sector. So, who knows what China is planning if they are quickly trying to replace Taiwan's semiconductor industry with their own.

Invading Taiwan isn't as easy as people think. There's 100 miles of water between them, so they can't simply roll up quietly, a single hostile move would be detected instantly. If the US is really ready to put everything on the line for Taiwan, China will not emerge victorious. It will be a pointless war where no one wins.


Maybe China will wait for the US to get into a war with Russia first, that would be the only time that invading Taiwan might make sense because America is way too powerful. There are so many factors to consider, and it's a huge headache they are not prepared to deal with. But time will tell.
