Somalia's Toxic Problem

@MerchantOfMogadishu, before I read your op the first thing that came to my mind when I read the title was Somalia federal government's pervasive corruption :icon lol: it's truly the most toxic thing to hamper the progress of our people. Now I read your points in the op but think about it how can we address these issues if the people complicit in the illegal toxic waste dumping can bribe their way out.

That's the sad reality we're faced with in the SFG. Corruption is already rearing it's ugly head in this administration and the opposition is no better or even worse. Honest to god I truly wonder if we will ever get out of this mess imposed by the self interested politicians doing the bidding of others. Barring a cultural revolution to kick these mofos out Somalia is done for. I can take solace in the fact that Somalia's enemies in Ethiopia/Kenya will join her in the dustbins of history. A realignment of the horn is incoming and Somalis are already ahead of the curve with SL/PL

I've given up on this administration. The Mogadishu bombing was the last straw. They can't even protect Xamar so how on earth are they supposed to do shit in other places. The corruption within the government is unbearable. I believe Farmaajo and Kheyre are complicit in this too, otherwise this problem should've been tackled already. Our country has gone backwards on many things. AMISOM are in our lands. Al Shabaab are thriving.

I've given up on the concept of Somalia sxb. It's a miracle that's it's still able to hold on in one way or another, but it won't last longer. I hope PL gets it's independence, because that will surely spur on all the other federal states to declare independence.

I can't wait for that realignment of the horn

Benaadir being it's own nation

:ahh::lawd:

Are you from Xamar sxb?

Sxb I've had a change of heart. I'm done with unionist crap. Everybody should do whatever suits their lands needs.

Nationalism is simply not a tenable goal at the moment, clearly. So focusing on your area is fine, but losing sight of the bigger picture is a mistake in my opinion. Unity should be the long term end goal. Splitting up into tiny states and staying that way will forever put us at the mercy of stronger nations.

Maybe we should start fixing our problems by firing the many warlords and unedcated/illiterate buffoons in the government. :damedamn:

There’s no independence!

We taught you Federalism not independence.

The future is having competitive Federalism that has autonomy until every state matures.

Why do people assume Puntland wants independence because we are taking care of our own business?

:mjhaps: You would rather see PL burn then thrive.

:ufdup:Somalia is Puntland, you just don’t see it.

I believe theyre too weak to fight back against the swamp. They are those who benefit from the status quo and as long they benefit from it we will always be stuck. Toothless administration will rather look the other way instead of clamping it down.

No sxb, my bloodline is from galgaduud but if I ever go back I'll go improve the living standards of my immediate relatives in some border town inside Gedo.

I've seen many Puntites on this forum who have called for independence.

I don't care whether Puntland wants independence or not, it's up to their people. As long as they don't interfere with the development of Benaadir, we won't interfere with yours. If that's what you want with federalism, I'm fine with that.

Real change will come once we're less reliant on aid. Donors want the 4.5 system and warlords/corrupt mofos will benefit from this system since they're not being contested/ being put up there by their clansmen. That's just the tip of the iceberg

We already interfered by teaching you Federalism.

Look to the North my friend! It is your guiding star.

@MerchantOfMogadishu since you have become a gobolist then how do you suppose Somalis fund and create a navy? Since Puntland has the largest coastline of any region shouldn't most of the resources for a navy go to Puntland? Or should it go to Banadir's 30 mile coastline?

This is why somalia will have a passive army or defence apparatus.

The Japanese are not allowed to build an offensive army, image what Somalia will be allowed?

Everything based on national security must be defensive not offensive.

Reer Benadiir shouldn’t be allowed to attend any gobolist discussions based on martime security.

Hiirshabelle will do their bidding
