Somaliland Airports: News & Development.

I mean, it could be like the Suez canal. They have a base there, what if they don't give it back? It is a valuable port.

The port and the base are two different things, the port is going to be managed by DP world, which is owned by the gov to my understanding, and the port is solely owned by the government, until the term ends.

They will defo give back the port, they did it with Djibouti, many chinese and indian ports and so on.

The base package, also includes other benefits such as a whole new airport, development projects such as road and bridge constructions. If they don't want to leave, then at the end of the day, there isn't much problem, it just decreases the chances of Somaliland engaging with any sort of conflict due to a middle power in the midst.

Flights to Somaliland city to operate twice a week starting July 4

Dubai: Air Arabia, the Sharjah-based carrier, announced that it is adding Hargeisa as its latest African destination, with flights to the Somaliland city starting from July 4.
The flights will operate twice a week, and come on top of Air Arabia’s six other destinations across Africa in Egypt, Sudan, and Kenya.

Air Arabia said it believes the new route will establish Hargeisa as a popular travel destination and appeal to growing tourism and trade sectors.
Air Arabia currently operates flights to over 130 routes across the world.
