When the SNM was formed in the early 1980s, there was no existential threat to the Issaqs. Suggesting that is absurd. The SNM was formed because some Issaq tribal elites had political grievances with the MSB regime, and they manipulated tribal sentiments to get the rest of the issaq to join them in a rebellion.
