I saw this coming.

:snoop:

Tbh I thought this was peace talking rather than joining Somaliland.

I am not shocked if we get a new region in Somaliland called Khatuumo and making our capital laascaanood.

If this is true I wonder what will be the reaction of Buuhoodle lol.

We use Somali Shilling and every house and corner in buuhoodle the Somalia flag is raised

They will make peace and join Somaliland. Xamar never supported Khaatumo anyway.

Now lets see a unity deal between Somaliland and Somalia :lolbron:

That's exactly what the plan is, and what the international community expects. The hard part is getting Dhulbahantes to accept phase one-uniting Khaatumo and Somaliland. The even harder part is convincing Isaaqs to accept phase two-uniting Somaliland and Somalia.

You think there's gonna be reunification? I think the cuqdad is too deep for that to happen.

There will be for sure, because there's no way Somaliland is gonna get intl recognition. The Somalis, and especially the Isaaq, are fickle people. The cuqdad can be turned into patriotism fairly quickly if the right political and economic conditions are met.

The question is, will it be respected by the people of Khaatom, and that we have yet to see, and more importantly do the people signing it have the political legitimacy to go trough with it.

This is what I think, politicians in Somaliland don't want to unify because it's been a crutch. The main excuse has been "we are not recognized", and they have built a state on cuqdad though many do not have cuqdad, it's been used as a tool. So if they unify with Somaliland what are they gonna say when people continue to be poor, destitute, illiterate, starving, dying because of curable and treatable illnesses? Somaliland is no different to afweyne era Somalia. Somaliland engages in corruption, nepotism, etc. Economically it's better to reunify, stability wise it is not.

Very very good insight there on the whole 'we are not recognized' thing being a crutch and a politically expedient excuse to obsolve Somaliland politicians of responsibility and blame.

The change to the constitution is a return to the 1960 Somaliland constitution. Not federal, but a unitary parliamentary republic. I know those are hard words for haters to understand, but I don't think you need to since it doesn't concern you.

Decentralization basically means a federal Somaliland.:pachah1::mjlol:

That is sort of a good thing, two of the largest gobols and most diverse Sanaag and Sool should
have their own councils and parliaments, consisting of a number of seats suitable to the demographics of each tribe. The financing for the projects within these gobols should then come from Hargeisa.
