Business as usual!
The first batch are in the quarantine, burao and hargeisa livestock markets started operation. just in time for hajj and umra season.

This comes after Sland gov negotiated with saudi arabia livestock ban, which was the catalyst for the skyrocketing inflation and currency depreciating.

at the end of this year, its predicted the shilling to strengthen against the dolar and curb the inflation.

In 2015, somalia exported record shipment worth $350million, berbera port handled third of this export.

Now a much needed hard currency will start rolling back to sland gov.

The rain came late this year,
But at the moment the ground is lush,
There are not enough livestock to eat this lush grass.

Exporting live stock while most people are dieing ?

Most people in 'Somaliweyn' (as you like to say) tend to consume meat in certain occasions (Eid, weddings etc.) since meat is a luxury for the average family. Instead, they sell their livestock to purchase flour/grain and other consumables that provide better value.

U will export dead livestock?:ooh:

Somaliland is expected to export more than 800,000 livestock to the kingdom of Saudi Arabia for this year’s Hajj.

The animals are en route to Saudi Arabia for use as sacrificial offerings for millions of Muslims making the Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca.

yeah right :camby:
On the Somali peninsula, there are more camels than the population of Canada, most of the world's camels live there, not to mention cheap cattle. The Saudis are about to have millions of hungry mouths to feed from all around the world. They were always planning on buying. This is was unilateral my boy
