Somalis must move to other markets insha'Allah. And we shouldn't be exporting live animals either.

This cattle industry is destroying Somalia's soil quality, i mean sooner or later the camels and goats are going to struggle to find anything to eat. These exporters should try shifting to greenhouse based agriculture like Spain.

Most people in 'Somaliweyn' (as you like to say) tend to consume meat in certain occasions (Eid, weddings etc.) since meat is a luxury for the average family. Instead, they sell their livestock to purchase flour/grain and other consumables that provide better value.

I didn't know that, when I went to puntland and somaliland they ate meat a lot.

Somaliland is expected to export more than 800,000 livestock to the kingdom of Saudi Arabia for this year’s Hajj.

The animals are en route to Saudi Arabia for use as sacrificial offerings for millions of Muslims making the Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca.
