I think he’s North African, I’ve seen them carry the name abdi before. He has 3 names though, which is also very Somali. Idk it’s so hard to tell

Doubt it's Moroccan. Is most likely a somali cadcad or barawani.

Kids called Mohammed Adam Abdi, very somali name but doesn’t really look it. Doesn’t even look like an cadcad either. Does anybody know anything about him?

the killer name does not sound somali at all. All three names sound reer xamaar or eritrean muslim.

I mean they are somali but not really counted as ethnic Somali. So when I said not somali I meant ethnic wise. And yeah Awad for Somalis is spelt like you said with a C. but is obvious those names aren't a typical name for any ethnic Somalis.

The barawanis and cad cad in London are part of the somali community and are considered as such. I only see this ethnic Somali emphasis online.

If a Somali barawani passed in our community no would even say “ yeah bro he was not Somali”. He would be considered no different from Isaac Hawiye etc passing away.

But they're not indigenous to Somalia so how are they ethnically Somali? If they have heavy admixure of Somali than is understandable but a lot of them don't.

I don’t think having 100 percent ethnic descent from pastoral Neolithic is the one thing which makes one a Somali. I know some barawanis/benadiri who look border line Arab and they consider themselves Somali, eat Somali food, chill in Somali spaces and no one would think a non Somali passed away if one of them died. They’re just seen as a Somali minority tribe by other Somalis in real life.

Anyway, let us not discuss this in a thread about murder victims.

Awad is an Arabic name and spelling gives away that he’s not Somali. We don’t separate the 2nd name. And we use Abdisamad

So 7.5% of all murders that took place in London in 2018 were on a Somali person, despite only making up 1.2% of the total London population.

Of the 8 Somali men murdered, 6 of them were stabbed and 2 shot. The transgender Somali was stabbed and the Somali woman died in a fire.

There are a few cases which still need to be resolved, and there have been Somalis being arrested on this list for murder charges, but the improvement within the London community with regards to crime has been clear to see.

Insha’Allah we can go the full year without someone being murdered in London. To go from 10 to 0 in only 6 years would be a massive achievement.

Wrong, my relative was killed in a UK prison this year and he was Somali.
