Somalis kingdom and sultanates

There was couple of kingdom and sultanates before the European invasion so I will try name all of them.
Majerteen sultanate
Hobyo sultanate
Hiraab imaamate
Isaaq sultanate or Habar yunis sultanate
Galedi sultanate
Warsengali sultanate
And this is all the kingdoms before the European Invasion.

Hiirab imaamate apparently their leader was sheikh. I didn’t include the ajuran kingdom because the hiirab already conquered it and absorbed them.

on a sidenote, i'm absolutely in love with this flag. the next somali state to be carved out of ethiopia (with harar as the capital, which is a must) should revive it

The European start to arrive in mid 19 century and adal sultanate didn’t exist anymore in this frame time.

Adal - Ifat was medieval history. These small kingdoms are successor states to Adal and Ajuuran empires which split Somaliweyn in two. The period after Adal-Ajuuran and before colonialism is basically a mess of small kingdoms which were consolidating power before getting xooged in the 1880s

The remnants of the Ajuuraan state that survived till the colonial era include the Olol Dinle Sultanate of Qalaafe and Baareey. There is also the Sultanate or Qadiriyah Sheikhdom of Bardera led by Abdi Osman, which had been one of the early Italian protectorate signitaries.

Gadabuursi Ughazate/kingdom is one of the oldest after the fall of Adal, and was responsible for pushing back the Oromo invasions.
