I mostly see group of Somalis with few ajnabis in them. Nearly all the ajnabis who had Somali friends get some kind of influence by somalis

I knew a Masri guy I went to school with who started hanging out with Somalis when we started Uni and all of a sudden this guy approaches me saying shit like "Abtigiis!" and "Iska waran?!". They wasted no time teaching him the lingo, wallahi. Wa dad mucjiso.

The ajnabis I meet speak like that with more of hayaay and wawaree, even I picked some words from them

Did you guys ever notice any differences in friendship between Somali vs ajnabi friends? I have more limited experience with Somali friendships compare to ajnabi but to me there are some major differences.

In Finland the sharing costum was not usual thing, everyone must pay for his things. Until Somalis came and started introducing the " do you wanna some? " among their friends.

I never felt out of place with most of my friends. If I do look out of place. That would be hilarious

Its logical a person gets influenced by their friend group, this also affects somalis. It could be good or bad depending on the quality of friends

I love that about Somalis. We always pay for our broke boys at restaurants. And they return the favor when jeebkooda qoyo. Ain't no thang!

My best friends growing up were all Horners and I didn't even realize it.

Somalis, Sudanese Arabs, a Sudanese Beja, Eritrean Agaws, Eritrean Tigrinyas.

I click much more with Horners than with other races. Arabs and Turks also make good friends.

Something I've always noticed is, how odd and out of place individual Xalimos and Faraxs look, when they're out with their ajnabi friends.

Just the other night, I was in Shoreditch (bar and club capital of London), there were a group of five girls standing outside a bar, smoking and laughing around. In the group was a xalimo. She was literally the odd one out, so out of place. Ffs, she even had on a little head scarf, the type that only covers the hair, not the standard long one, that goes down to the neck. There was an air of great awkwardness about her and her group of friends.

Similarly, I also saw a farax with his ajnabi friends, and he too seemed out of place and awkward with his boys.

Anyone else ever notice this?

Well it is tuff to be human. And worst a Somali human in a gaalo habitat environment. U have to make up an identity of WHO u r and live with that. U can't wear a hijaab and twerk at the same time. I recently discovered i do not have an inside central identity. My identity shifts with peoples opinion. It is paramount to form a central inside identity which cannot be penetrable by outside influence. The good thing about being ayeeyo is u dont give a fk what people think.

There is no real friendship with ajnabis for me. The somalis we can argue, annoy each other and we still cool. With ajnabis I have to be careful and they will stab you in the back. As a typical somali who speaks before thinking I always fall out with ajnabis. Mix raced at work start say we as black this and that and I said to him you aint even black. Guy became salty......Im like but you have a white mum and he still think he is black. and offcourse he has kids with a white woman.....
