Accepting refugees only slows down conflict mediation. Many if not most politicians in Somalia have foreign nationalities.

They are paying upwards of 10 thousand dollars to live a European lifestyle, not to save themselves from bombs or impending peril. However in another respect the tahrib-phenemonea is very dangerous: one UN survey noted that around 97% of Somali youth hope to leave the country. The country will not be able to revive itself if this large-scale exodus continues.

This is a tricky situation to address but although I understand the damage tahrib does, it's also hard for me to tell others to stay in a hopeless, dysfunctional society that my own family fled and has zero intention of ever returning to. If I were in Somalia today, I would not spare a moment before fleeing to Europe or some other civilized corner of the world.

Actually its is not helpful at all because many of them who are qualified youth and skilled people will not lend their skills in Somalia and actually participate in rebuilding it. They would also be able to create jobs and sustain livelihood in their homeland but instead are used as labor for other countries. There will be huge void and that will be filled by foreign imported workers.

The remit money back home would have negative effects. We diaspora by funding our own people to sustain them , we at the same time cripple them. We make them lazy and externally reliant beggars.You will see foreigners come in and take jobs in Somaliland/Somalia especially when the Native population is largely unemployed. Many somali diasporans instead of employing the natives and transfering skill, they import cheap labor from other countries then we blame the natives for being lazy. Well what incentives do they have to work, when the diaspora somalis send them money?

Remittance would be useful only if we could transfer that money into something constructive.

I would happily go back once I'm a fully fledged educated individual with years of experience in healthcare. However in the time being I would like to nourish my appitite for education by seeking more knowledge. Once I feel I can transfer this knowledge then I will return and invest my knowledge on to those who despretaly want change. I will open up a school in the field I most likely thrive in but this requires passion and most off all finance two factors which often hinders progress.
