Historical Resistance During Haile Selassie's Rule
Gadabuursi Resistance to Abyssinian/Ethiopian Taxes/Rule

Brother, it seems you could benefit from a history lesson. Ali Bu'ul and Sultan Omer played a pivotal role in securing the exemption of Gadabuursi land from Ethiopian taxes. At the same time, other clans, like the Geri and Jaarso, were not as fortunate. The Gadabuursi played a large part in fighting back and resisted the Ethiopians, forcing them to concede to these terms. In my view, integrity holds more value than simply yielding to whoever has power—it may not guarantee immediate safety, but it preserves honour in the long run. Standing on principles can lead to victory, as demonstrated by those Gadabuursi who fought to remain tax-free.

Ethiopia’s Fragile Present: A Nation at Risk of Fragmentation
Ethiopia is currently deeply divided along ethnic and sectarian lines. With numerous factions involved, the country faces a real risk of balkanization, potentially in a state far worse than Somalia. Swearing allegiance to whoever holds power in such an unstable political climate is questionable, especially when that power is fragile and prone to change. Ethiopia’s political landscape is volatile, and shifting loyalties may offer short-term security but often lead to long-term consequences.
