I really want to know what led somalia to the civil war? What was going inside the politics after the independance? Before and after the coup by siad barre? What would have happened if siad barre would never do a coup d'etat. Would another politician had done it?
well since am the most knowledgeable here about history
despite how everybody blames siyaad barre the problems existed way before him
around the time when independence happened the democratic government were corrupt groups who worked for foreigners more or less what you see today:manny:
now around the 60s one of the worst droughts happened in the north the so called president than didn't do shit to help them the only thing he did was visit the area that was hit unfortunately for him that was his last visit a guy from his clans men assasinated him:manny:
the politicians behind close doors were fighting themselves they could't agree on who should lead so after few days few elders and influential people went to the only guy who had power over the army and asked him to lead:manny:
As for another politician taking power I doubt it none of them were powerful enough to take power outright in another words 91 would happen in 69 instead of 91:manny:
Somalia problems will always exist as long as clans exist as long as clans exist few corrupt individuals will use it to gain power :manny:
