SSC-Khatumo, the perfect Gareen State

In the Farmajo era, the term 'Gareen State' became popularised to refer to weak states that were totally reliant upon the FGS for financial aid. This in turn meant those states were totally subservient to the FGS and could not refuse Villa Somalia's commands.

Today, SSC-Khaatumo is shaping up to be the perfect Gareen State for Villa Somalia. Unknown to most people, SSC-Khaatumo currently faces severe financial stress. With no port under its control and the closure of the road to Berbera, sources of revenue are very limited. In addition, similar to Jubaland in 2012, any new state no matter how far removed ultimately needs recognition from the FGS for legitimacy and to access international support.

These two things together (financial stress and need for FGS recognition) means that SSC-Khatumo in effect has to do the bidding of Villa Somalia. It may have received recognition now (albeit conditional on completing its state constitution and conference), however, the financial black hole still remains. Just like KGS and Hirshabelle, SSC-Khatumo will remain reliant on FGS funding for the foreseeable future.

However, unlike the other gareen states, SSC-Khatumo is a Darod Gareen State. In 4.5 Somalia, this is as good as it gets for a Hawiye dominated FGS. They can now claim that they have a broad consensus for the blatant power grab vis a vis the states that HSM is spearheading (SSC-Khaatumo will replace Puntland/Jubaland). If HSM was clever, he would also push for an Awdal Gareen State to complete the charade.

Will SSC-Khaatumo accept the strings that come attached with FGS funding? In between a hostile Somaliland and a shaky alliance with Puntland, does it even have the luxury of choice?

SSC is ready switch to a cambuulo lifestyle diet and will now conduct yearly Shirib recitals for his excellency President Hassan Sheikh. The starving ribs of negroes have to be fed to keep away the wolves.

A lot of options from working with fgs. Turkey is doing land and sea exploration deals. Now that region is open for studies and fortune can change over night. There faith in own hands now. Hope other regions like Hiraan Benadir get own states as well

From Farmaajo term until now, what has happened in Jubbaland ? What have you accomplished? What territory has been freed? What development has occurred ? Nothing.

Jubbaland is a paper state only kept together by international support, unlike SSC Khaatumo that was created by ourselves alone. In 10 years time Jamaame, Jilib, Buaale, Saakow etc will still be Al Shabab territory whilst our land will have rapidly developed. All the money in Jubbaland is stolen by corrupt Blackie so why you pretending otherwise?

SSCKH has been financially independent for 2 years. They have a functional taxation system and local government controls districts. The government self funded road developments, salaries for soliders and building of the state house building.

In just 2 years they’ve accomplished far more the FGS that existed for years. To refer to them as financially reliant on the government or gareen state is nonsense.

SSCKH can and has survived without the FGS.

isn’t it better to work with fgs to get international companies to invest or getting access to loans that will develop their state.

No port, no defined borders, and 2 mature states in either direction that have border disputes with you.

Firdhiye will have white hair like Madoobe by his terms end.

I have no problem with SSC working with fgs, we just need PL and JL to stay the course. And plus, SSC needs another capital which they dont have to legitimise voting, it cant just be laascanood. PL and JL need to do whatever they can to put a stop to this HSM one man show. The guy lost pretty much all the land farmaajo liberated, hes a collosal failure that has the goal of ending up like an IOG figure without actually freeing his land from al-kebab. :ohlord:

Theres been too many failures at multiple different angels, they failed to get warsangeli involved early on whereby they could have incentivised them with presidency currently or in the following term(no warsan, no port). They launched an ill-equipped attack on ceerigaabo which backfired in their faces, now they only have one city that you could really call a capital. They can correct some of their mistakes but that would take some big concessions on their part as well as meticulous planning and a possible redraw of borders.

Not involving warsangeli was a big blunder
