STOP Sending money to Somalia!

Many of you or yall parents may be sending money home to relatives and family members monthly. I recommend that we STOP this practice ASAP. It does NOTHING to develop Somalia nor does it enrich the Somalis there. This only continues the cycle of poverty and What we are doing is rewarding uneconomical lifestyles.

I told my hooyo to stop sending money to adeer and we sent him a one off 7k instead and told him to start some sort of business/shop or learn English online and work in the online Gig economy. I explained that he needs to now work as he can’t be reliant on us any longer. I told him to be like the Syrian and Yemeni refugees that are overtaking yall and starting up shop.

I am pleased to say that he now works as a Painter! And has surpassed the figure we used to send him!

THIS IS WHAT WE NEED! Please spread the word to yall parents.

This is how I imagine privileged ppl talk.
I'll give you an example of what this means to Somalis back. One eedo I know was sending money as little as 50-100 $ to a young boy of her relatives, he was an orphan I guess, the payments was something monthly and sometimes every other month. After one year that boy graduated from I.T sector, work and get money. What that help he got, he maybe wouldn't graduate and staid poor uneducated.


That money really help, it is not only help very poor families but the economy of our country, billions annually will be lost of the economy if we stopped sending.

Maybe your point works in functioning countries, but our country as a whole isn't. Even SL will not manage it to absten from that money. There's no security nor the capital for what you are proposing.

Definitely what Somalia needs, I have never understood the saying that Somalia has no jobs therefore the relatives need assistance. No, somalia has jobs, but they are not the cushy office jobs that the noble clans do. Somalis look down on xamaali while minority groups and immigrants are making a killing.

I never received remittance , the only relative that helped us once, used to live in South Africa , AUN. The ones in the west turned a blind eye on us when we needed them the most , we struggled because having a relative meant a life and death situation in Somali society , but I had none but , xaasid relatives living abroad
and they were dead to me when they said to us " go and die , like the rest of your deceased family , we will never send money to you" we were orphans stranded in Tanzania.

Look at me today , I don't need shit from anyone ,I'm self made and every Somali looks for Rasta when they have their fucking problems. I tell them hit the door if you bring that buuq and extra fucking nonsense if the matter is bs , then they solve their problems themselves.
I don't give AF about qaaraan or Qabiil , like I said ,abroad relatives are dead to me and we never speak not even sending condolences to their tacsi , I only connect with surviving siblings in Somalia because family comes first!

So like distant relatives , first or second cousins, random relatives and qabiil are not what I consider secondary things since they are all irrelevant to me.

I help them out , send money whenever I can , Somalia is no place for orphans , the stupid ass government took control of the town and made matters even worse , the inhabitants are living in hell and in fear , no environment if you are targeted and young.

I'm glad they are alive in one piece , they are coming here , I'm happy that they'll leave that shithole, because like it or not there are chances here , opportunities and education , I hope they benefit from it.
