Strangest Rabbit Hole

Lately, I’ve been getting spammed with Shen Yun ads on YouTube. If you haven’t heard of it, Shen Yun is a traditional Chinese dance show that tours the world. So, I decided to check out their website, and the first thing I see is “China without communism.” That got me curious, so I dug deeper and found out that the show is actually put on by a movement called Falun Gong.

Falun Gong started in 1992, right after the Tiananmen Square massacre, and it quickly gained millions of followers worldwide. But the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) wasn’t a fan and started cracking down on them in 1999. Now, this is where things get interesting: Falun Gong believes in some pretty out-there things. They don’t believe in evolution, think that modern medicine is part of a plan to control people, and they believe sickness is tied to karma. They also think that in heaven, races will be separated and that God plans to eliminate all gay people.

They’re super anti-CCP, which is one reason why Shen Yun is banned in China. The CCP even persecutes Falun Gong members to this day, with reports of imprisonment and violence. But Falun Gong isn’t just about the religious side—it also has a strong political message. They’re vehemently against the current Chinese government, which is why their newspaper, The Epoch Times, and the Shen Yun show often feature anti-communist content.

If you’ve seen the show or heard about it, you probably know that one of the scenes is about organ harvesting, which the CCP has been accused of. It’s a pretty shocking and dark part of the show, but it’s not surprising considering the movement’s focus on exposing the CCP’s actions.

The whole Shen Yun experience is like a mix of traditional Chinese culture, stunning dancing, and intense political propaganda. The performances are beautiful, with all the bright colours and intricate choreography.

Should I go to one of their shows to experience it for myself?

Have you met any members of Falun Gong? If so, how was your experience with them?
I just used to see them on television a lot in the 2000s they relocated to New York and most Chinese American's in events I met are entrepreneurial types who hate the CCP and donate to the Taiwanese cause by giving them weapons backed by there local congressman of course
Everyone talks about the Israeli lobby but no one talks about the china lobby which forces the us to give Chinese political exiles and Taiwanese protection

i'm pretty sure i've come across falun gong a few times, screeching about CCP and what not. I heard they have an extremely racist ideology.

They have eight touring companies that perform over 6 months in 130 cities annually, selling 1.5 to 4 million tickets per year. With ticket prices often ranging from $100 to $300, it's estimated that Shen Yun's annual revenue is between $150 million and $600 million.

😳 Look at their faces—you can’t tell me this isn’t propaganda. They all look like paid actors.
I wonder why YouTube keeps shoving their ads at me.

Some Chinese naag stopped me on the street to preach about this and gave me pamphlets. Was a very odd experience 😭 out of all the people there why’d you stop me?

So that’s why they are so rich. Damn!

Happened like end of August in the Downtown Core. Ontario, Canada btw.
The same thing happened in Melbourne. I was approached by two Korean ladies to join their Christian group while I was working. They started asking me about my background and faith, then left me a card. While they were explaining their group to me, there was a guy constantly watching them and as soon as they left, he left too. some creepy shit

Oh you have to watch out for those types. Search up their religious cults its crazy. My friends get approached by these Christian chinese groups at school. They are visibly muslim too? And whats weird is that its mainly in their language so why do they try to invite other people.

Falun Gong is a cult. I saw one street interview where one of their followers claimed the leader was a god.

One of the guys who were very anti-China on YouTube had ties to Falun Gong:

Though the guy who made this video is, on the flip side, very pro-CCP and probably gets paid by them. Two agents.:icon lol:
