Why not? 100 years is more than enough.

Society won't change when the same dogmas continue to live on forever - people hardly change once certain believes are solidified. That's one of the few things death is good for.
It's the difference between someone who's lost the will to live and has only a loss of self and a painful circumstance to endure (prolonging death), and the murder of a perfectly healthy human being who presumably would like to live on.

In my mind, an anti-aging discovery is practically dystopian. I imagine this scenario where it would induce genocide and ethnic cleansing of the vast majority of the human population to produce a contained population of designer beings thought worthy of extended life. If the government decides when you die, surely they're also deciding who's born and when too, maybe even who gets with who at that point surely.

It's because religion provides a community and a sacred place to get support and soul search.

Loneliness and depression is more occurring in Atheists because of that. Other people have a mosque or a church where they can get help

Don't know why Atheists on here feel attacked. Common sense would argue religious people are less likely to kill themselves compared to self-described atheists

I agree. It makes sense. not to mention the fact that muslims are scared of entering hell because of killing themselves. Atheists don't have that mental block.

"Concerning suicide rates, this is the one indicator of societal health in which religious nations fare much better than secular nations. According to the 2003 World Health Organization's report on international male suicides rates (which compared 100 countries), of the top ten nations with the highest male suicide rates, all but one (Sri Lanka) are strongly irreligious nations with high levels of atheism. It is interesting to note, however, that of the top remaining nine nations leading the world in male suicide rates, all are former Soviet/Communist nations, such as Belarus, Ukraine, and Latvia. Of the bottom ten nations with the lowest male suicide rates, all are highly religious nations with statistically insignificant levels of organic atheism"
