Nonsense. Sumad markings are more like the trademarks of people or clan markings, they are not an alphabet

This is misleading. Sumad were symbols often used by nomads to mark Camels usually to identify the owners of that particular animal. There's no evidence that sumad was used as an alphabet at least in the recent few centuries. There are some undeciphered inscription in some caves but I've seen no evidence to link them with the Sumad symbol. I have no idea if the symbols here are real the correspondence with latin based somali alphabet seems made up.
We need further studies especially when it comes to ancient inscriptions , but sumad were most likely just local emblems for livestock branding which is also something in use among pastoralists elsewhere in the horn of Africa

I've been thinking about this recently and while I can't comment on those translations. The idea that sumado are just "clan markings" or for branding camel ownership. Is ridiculous when you think about. We have a set of 20 something symbols that look like letters and we have names for each of them. Doesn't that strike you as very odd if it was just a marking ? Why wouldn't every clan just have a unique symbol like you see with arab clan flags or the japanse noble clans ?

There's also the fact that people also put these symbols on objects and the environment. The closest thing I've seen to something like sumado is the amazigh scripts from. North Africa still used by the nomads like the tuaregs .
