Can you imagine the gains if these cow herders can be convinced to put their cattle in feedlots and grow maize and alfalfa in Afmadow and Badhaadhe? Massive economic gains. Something similar can also be done in Ijara and Hulugho. Vast amounts of arable land can be brought into crop production.

The Kikuyus are farmers traditionally so it was easy for them. It will take a time with our nomads. That being said, there are nomads who have picked up farming maize and wheat in the buushbuushle area and they get good yields already
