Assad losing power doesn’t change anything, Alawites will always have military control over their coastal mountainous regions, Kurds will control east of the Euphrates river, Turkish backed SNA outnumbers Islamists and will not accept being ruled by them.

One difference is that Assad has no problems letting Iran/Hezbollah traffic weapons through Syria to fight Israel, whilst the rebels hate Shias and would never let that happen. A post Assad Syria, in which Israel/USA balance power between all of the different factions and doesn’t let one take overpower the rest is the ideal situation. And tell me, how could that be prevented?
