When tf was this supposed golden age are these rare pics of “traditional” Somali clothes from?
“Mislah” is literally an Arabic word that op used.
My Macawis is from south east Asia and my shaati from Thailand.
If the garment doesn’t have an original Somali name- since linguistically, nouns and pronouns are the oldest words in languages- then I’m afraid it’s not apart of our culture, as so you so claim, which is even worst for ur case, since it’s guys are the ones crying about “arabization”.
The shoes being sold in Mogadishu are shipped from Turkey, making Somali “Traditional” clothes a lullaby for the birds.
We haven’t caught up with the Industrial Revolution saaxib, the closest industry we have to have ever gotten nationalized were those bananas from the ka’an era.

Looks like a heavy cloth trench coat with colored threading design a tassel and no zippers but tied together. It would be a challenge to find where you would get the blank trench from but I really hope you become successful with this. I always see on social media somalis talking about how they hate when people wear arab and american clothing. Well what else are we suppose to wear, the old somali clothes is gone. So you will be tapping into a massive opportunity. I recommend you keep things on the down low until youre finished because someone could steal it and start selling em on tiktok 300 a pop.
