We have plenty of Somalis with degrees, qualifications, and experience, but the majority of them aren't leaders or are not interested in another challenge.
This only works once you're exiled for 2000 years and no way back. Then your people will stop looking at the difference between each other and start look at he core issue. But we the diaspora have already began this journey for instance we don't talk about qabil never at all. We should expel Somalis out of Somalia and we should take there place. Id wager we'd have it running well in less then 10 years. After they've been exiled for 20 years and figured out the bigger picture they can be let back in but never in governmental offices due to there past action

We dont have ivy league money. Only very few somalis finish in ivy league schools
Whatβs the culture like around ivy leagues over there? Can you not go to an Ivy League for free through the whole way based on merit?
Obvs UK is much smaller with much fewer universities but thereβs many people who go from council house to oxbridge you can get sponsored
Ivy leagues love legacy students usually. The ones whos parent(s) attended the school and or donated money to the school. Yes they do look at merit however they wont just pay for your schooling just based on that. Financial aid does pay for schooling but idk if it will cover the whole cost of an ivy league. I have seen some students who get a full ride scholarship to attend ivy leagues though.

It is a very good university, one of the best in the region and even the United States. People call it one of the Ivys of the Midwest. Expecting people to go to the Ivy League is insanity, that is like expecting all Brits to go to Oxford or you are no good.

I don't think thats true. I have limited knowledge about Somalis in most european countries. Simply because i don't speak the languages to access it. But UK Somalis for example are filling up universities and graduating and they open small/medium businesses more than mainland European ones. Infact thats the reasons more Europeans Somalis moved there prior to Brexit.
Also they turned up a notch in terms of their civic representation.

Yub I remember when I was the only somali guy in uni back in 2019. I recently went back for course and seen atheist 100 Somalis there we even held a whole room to pray jummah in.
