This is quite impressive. Tanzania is building out a national SGR network linking the Great Lakes states with Dar Es Salaam (and perhaps Bagamoyo).

An 8hr trip cut down to 4hrs is great for the region.

There is a rail boom in East Africa right now. This same Turkish contractor from the Tanzanian SGR 'won' the contract to build Ugandas Malaba to Kampala recently. They plan on taking it to the Congo border

Tanzania seems more promising in the long term than Kenya. It's TFR is more than 1 child higher and the disparity in per capita isn't very large.

Very underrated country.
