Take comfort in the fact that this level of spinelessness is a unqiue quality of hsm and he'll be gone next year. While future president's might be corrupt none of them are going to be this subservient.

Then there's the fact that abiy seems to be following a common historical pattern of self destructive actions. I mean how many world leaders started a civil war after being in power for only 2 years? And now even three years after the tigray war the country isn't at peace and is even less stable than it was after the tigray war ended. This all combined with the massive fiscal and economic reforms that began last year which mean that these people who already severly struggling from high food prices and inflation will not see any relief for the next couple of years .

Civili war > increasing instability and massive inflation > massive economic reforms .

Does this not read like a textbook example of the last years before the collapse of govt ?

What do you see happening within the year

I put hsm doing the one man vote thing at 50/50. But regardless of that he's not coming back after the election. None of somalia's political actors want him back even his own qabil will probably support some other guy.

There's also probably gonna be a lot of investment in puntland after they route the terrorists. Probably some advertising about how it's the safest place in somalia now. Notice all the foerign media picking up this puntland campaign? It's happening for a reason. I wouldn't be surprised if some uae investors are involved as well. There also the hoboyo and garland ports.

The new seaport and airport in Mogadishu will be finished in the next year and half. Which is probably gonna increase the amount of qurbajoog and ajanabi who come to the country as well.

You also have the several other stuff like the hospital in garow, and etc. These things combined are gonna result in a lot of changes to the country
