they have already won countries in Africa like Ethiopia, Angola and Mozambique and they have made their mark on the economies there. The Chinese have driven up house prices in Sydney, Melbourne, Vancouver and Auckland which are all cities that have huge Chinese populations. As a citizen of Melbourne, I can confirm that house prices are crazy af here.
I don't hate the Chinese people, but the Chinese bankers that screw over economies.

In Kenya, they employ Chinese MDs to Chinese brick layers and Chinese cleaners. Almost EVERYTHING is imported from China, including materials. They don't even hold their money in Kenyan banks. There's next to nothing to gain from their presence. Honestly, I'd rather the resources in Somalia remain untapped for the foreseeable future.

Every major power does crap like that in their own backyard. And these "Islands" you're talking about are rocks in the sea. The very example shows how right I am. China steals some rocks, America robs whole nations of their future.

Then just say that you neef. I don't live in Vancouver, but here in Toronto a similar thing is going one. Not as bad as Van, but still pretty bad. Prices go up month after month. I agree with you about the housing thing. But mostly due to their size and new found wealth. The sleeping dragon is beginning to awake from it's slumber.

But don't try to stretch that argument too far. The Chinese are no more of a threat to the world economy than the west is.

I saw Chinese guys, who had business and were driving around in their cars..

I also saw Indians, so many with their families, who also are opening business on hargesia.

I rather have the Chinese than Indians who will never leave and will bring their whole generations into the country and birth thousands of kids!

I've never been Somaliland but I'm assuming you mean consumer goods sold by Somalis. It's not ideal but the 'choice' of importing is at least made by the people of Somaliland (whether out of necessity or not). The money generated by the businesses remains in the community. If the goods were produced domestically it would only contribute a bit more. Whereas it would be a completely different story if a Chinese business opened up shop there and sold (imported) goods to Somalilanders. Held the money in Chinese banks and employed Chinese staff. All the while they're competing with Somali businesses. They're literally taking money out of your economy and bringing it back to the Chinese economy.

That's cool.... I don't mind the Chinese indo yar they will eventfully leave.

But the Indians are a menace to other countries and I'm nervous they will come in the thousands, they won't pump the money back into our economy instead they send it back home and they only employ their own kind.

Chineses already are doing business with Ethiopia and we don't want to repeat what had happened in 1977 with Soviet, plus china financed kenya's invasion to Somalia (they paid the Kenyan army's uniforms pathetic). But there is new player in Africa most of you did not notice Japan. The Japanesses are building military base in Djibouti plus their army is in South Sudan to stop the war. Japan started recently to compete with china in Africa. Better we build allies with them. Also they are pro west and we can spare America 's angry on us if we go to china and Russia.
