Canada effectively used their resources to become a first world nation while Somalia decided not to use their resources. You're comparing a first world nation with comparative neighbors with a country regaining its footing in hostile terrority
That's a new level of stupid

While the rest of the world went through industrialization, for centuries Somalis discriminated against skilled labourers and looked down on fishing.
We can't blame anyone but ourselves for our present situation.
We don't need multi billion dollar companies to create an industrialized country.Bro you think foreign euro and american oil and gas hundred billion companies will want to be dictated to and held accountable by a third world shithole where most people live on less than a dollar a day?
We don't need multi billion dollar companies to create an industrialized country.
What were Somalis doing when Russia, Japan, Singapore, China etc. industrialized their countries? They were living in much worse conditions than Somalis before they industrialized.
Since then we've been herding camels and have been doing the same shit since 3000BC.
Go to the history section and you will see the industrial section of Somalia before 91 we had our sugar, rice, pasta, heavy industry unfortunately the traitors warlord destroyed it
due to the civil war yesThere was a huge cement factory in Somaliland. That does not exist anymore either

Food processing factories are a good start but it wasn't a major part of the economy.Go to the history section and you will see the industrial section of Somalia before 91 we had our sugar, rice, pasta, heavy industry unfortunately the traitors warlord destroyed it
One cement factory can't service an entire region. There's 3 of these cement plants in my neighbourhood alone. There was a huge cement factory in Somaliland. That does not exist anymore either
one factory wonders kkkkk (built by the gov)Only the fish factory in las qoray that is still working since 91 because the local didn't destroy it but improved and worked in it even export it to Syria and Yemen. (Warsangeli and their entrepreneur spirit )

Somalis never had a heavy industry.

The Barre government tried to make Somalia a self sufficient country but they failed in doing that. Somalia has always been an Import-Export country. We didn't need to import anything at that time, go to history section and watch the video of industrialization in Somalia.

If we decided to industrialize and sell manufactured goods to the world instead of raw materials Somalia would be a relatively wealthy country.
All the factories were state owned in the socialist era. Socialism stagnated growth & people were barred from creating wealth. A few state owned factories here & there did not mean we were on the path of industrialization. The country still mostly exported raw materials for national income. The Barre government tried to make Somalia a self sufficient country but they failed in doing that.
