I’m not gonna lie, that video of Ilhan seriously pissed me off.
The United States isn’t responsible for the chaos of Venezuela, it was caused entirely by socialism. There were no US sanctions placed on the country until January of THIS year, and we all know Venezuela has been a shithole for almost a decade now. And it keeps getting worse, despite the fact that they have massive oil reserves.
The Venezuelans can’t even drill for their own oil anymore, because all of their drills and machinery has deteriorated and the Government didn’t invest in new oil-drilling equipment. Hugo Chavez apparently thought it was a good idea to spend all of that capital equipment money on new schools and clinics, but he bankrupted his country in the process.
The Venezuelans can’t even grow food anymore, despite the fact that they have the richest soil in the continent. Their tractors don’t work, their forklifts don’t work, nothing works. Nothing was built and no one saved any money since Chavez took control, and what we’re seeing now is a result of his foolish short-sighted behaviour.
America deserves no blame for this. America is the freest major power in the world and the greatest proponent of prosperity in the world today. They’re the last country to be given blame for this crisis. In fact, America was Venezuela’s largest customer of oil until this year. They did the exact OPPOSITE of sanctions.
Ilhan has a responsibility to the country to be educated on the facts and not to say stupid things on camera.

This woman is not exceptional at all. In the past, most US politicians were impressive people. Sure, they may have been mean and even corrupt. But they were very impressive high-IQ individuals with a successful private career. Nowadays, we have bartenders like Ocasio-Cortez and activists like Ilhan leading the Democrats. Not the brightest bunch of people. Congress today is full of dumb, mean, and corrupt individuals....while in the 1980s Congress was filled with smart, mean and corrupt individuals.

She’s very exceptional in that she knows the pulse of her core voting block and represents there view points as well as possible when it comes to foreign policy, this is why she’s wildly popular with here base(justice democrats) and pretty much does her job as good as possible, which is representing the people that elected her, the congress of the past was highly ineffective in doing that same job and quite frankly didn’t deserve to be there like Ilhan and AOC do, this is why you will see less establishment politicians in politics whether left or right and the focus will be more on how best a candidate represents there base, this is why trump for example with no political experience was a better republican candidate then McCain, and Romney, those fancy Harvard law degrees don’t bring relatability with Americans and most of those congressman your talking about were really horrible politician that got lucky due to party connections and getting on the ballot as either republican or Democrat and not there own charisma or likability among voters
