I gotta say, Somali Politicians use to smoke a a lot back then. Nowadays instead of a Cuban cigar they have tusbax and Quran. The worst part is the ones that use to smoke probably had more integrity than the current ones.

The funny thing he was called Sheikh because he studied law and Sharia also worked as translator but until the 80s Somali scholars who graduated from al Azhar used to smoke like Sheikh Sharif Abdi Nur and the Oromo Sheikh Nur Qawi they stopped after the 80s and Somalia was like Egypt

I can’t speak for everyone, but my dugsi never paid time towards even as we gotten older. We completed more books of the Arabic language and continued hifdh though.

1960 political Iririya wanted South-North based powersharing both the president and PM to go for Irir Samaale

South was led by Hawadle and North Isaaq. The southern Dir were part of it led by Abdulkadir Juujo
They just lost the elections by one vote

In 1961 they voted No in the constitutional referendum because the North was not part of it it was done before the Union. The Isaaq North towns and Hiiraan voted NO and the rest yes

In 1963 they left SYL and created their own opposition party SNC Sheikh Ali Jimale was its chairman and Cigaal its secretary general

Its funny today when you see gadaal ka gaar Hawiye accusing us of being anti Irir the ideology we created it when they were on the Daarood side in the 60s. No other hawiye/Samaale gobol voted No besides Hiiraan and the North in that constitutional referendum 1961. 1960kii ay hawiye wax ka qaldameen Isaaqna waa lugooyeen

wrong. Cigaal was very innocent when he arrived Mogadishu he was not tribal otherwise he would not have united with the South that was a breading ground for tribalims. Infact when he arrived he was much closer to Muuse Boqor who was only caring about the interests of Nothern harti joining their Southern Daarood brothers to increat their votes. Majority of Hawiye were against immediate union they were pro Italians so they sticked to their culture and language saying how can we unite without a common language? Let us do it latter when we create the Somali writing and prepare for teachers who can speak both english and Italian. Hawiye including adde cade ignored him so he was welcomed by Muuse boqor. Then after the union wich he accepted it without condition the parliament elected speaker Adan Adde as acting president and he picked Sharmarke as his acting Pm with the support of Cadde Muuse both Cusman Maxamud MJ the supposed only friend of Cigaal

At this time while Cigaal was suicide he got approached by Sheikh Ali Jimaale who told him i will make you the pm if you back me with your 22 Isaaq votes this is how it started and then joined by southern Dir and Many hawiye like Sacad HG and Murusade.

Yes But some believe that it was literally made in the 1960s, and before that, no one knew it, and this is not true
The political thing that happened between Isaaq and Hawiye in 1960 was just for them to share power

Irir Samaale is a tribe same as Daarood and was not created by 1960. What is new is the political Irirsm Cigaal was a partner with big Nothern base but it was not his idea it was the idea of his Hawade cabdidate Ali Jimcaale who took advange of Isaaq being let down by Adan Cadde bc Cigaal was the PM of the shortly lived SL independent State and excpeting to be the PM after the Union. SL parliament had 33 members 22 of them were Isaaq so they had the majority that was enough to refuse the Union if they wanted but they voted for it instead.
