Ethiopia can't do war or annexation (they are definitely too weak right now, I think they are being used for navy plus it looks like politics for their ruling party) . Recognition would have been good. 20KM is too much though.

But the so called MOU was allowing ethiopia annex the western regions without firing a single bullet and that why we need to be vigilant, corrupted leaders are selling all of us out to foreingers for the sake of their pockets

But will the same apply if US wants a base?

No it doesn't for two reasons

Firstly america is a distant nation that has no intention to annex and doesn't pose existential threat to us if the articles are well defined and no third party is allowed to included in the deal

Secondly, america is a super power nation that can do something for you unlike a Wartorn neighbouring shithole thats one step away from balkanization

So I am here for any win win deal to every nation around the world except those who want to annex parts of our land and even embraced it publicly that if we don't give it to them with our will they gonna take it by force

Why hasn't he seen the MoU? What kind of nonsense is that statement to be honest. He should have seen it or withheld his comment until he saw it. This is not a good look if your country signs an agreeement and the next governemnt starts talking like that. Not even diplomatic language suggesting that the last president was sending SL to hell. The FM made a point that what kulmiye was saying about the deal and what the Ethiopian described didn't match up.

Great point, why give Ethiopia land to build a port wouldn't that stop them paying to use Berbera as the 19% they were once offered at the start was taken away and sold to the UKs CDIC so they have no stake and just have to pay like everyone else.

There's allot of mess kulmiye have done which will take along time to clean up have patience.
