Its cos Barre was reer miyi and had a chip on his shoulder and hated city folk.

I dont if MJ greed makes sense, it may have some truth to it, but i dont if that was the reason it was created.

The reason why the colonels wanted to overthrow Siyaad barre was because of the way SB handled the ogaden war.
Majority of them just happened to be MJ, what came after was brutally killing and burning mj villages.
