The Somali Civil Aviation Authority (SCAA) issued a warning to Ethiopian Airlines and Flydubai

FGS is acting like one of those legal companies that just sends out copyright claims. Paper state is just a legal office at this point.

The letters were made public which created some public pressure on the companies. Without that I doubt they would comply.

It wouldn't be the first time SCAA would put restrictions on Ethiopian Airlines from entering Somali Airspace. There's also been a brief period recently where all ET flights were suspendered temporarily. The point is, we have full control over the airspace, SCAA isn't throwing out useless papers and threats, they can actually suspend their license to operate within our airspace.

Can they ignore it? Sure, since we don't even have capable air force to intercept their planes lol, but then they'll have to deal with a whole other set of international violations as previously mentioned.

What breach of international law? Direct flights and mention of Somaliland only suggests recogniton and it's not illegal to recognize Somaliland. Right now Ethiopia doesn't recognize, the moment it does, Mogadishu will get put on mute.

The same international laws and norms that are making it difficult for Abiy and Bihi's illegal deal to go through and "recognize" SL.

Keep crying you clowns.

What's illegal about recongition? It is just a little tricky because Somalia immediately made it a security issue and tried to mobilize the US and others and failed, then the UNSC and failed, then Turkey and failed, now it's onto trying to create proxy war between Egypt and Ethiopia and changing airline websites but this is far from the point.

In terms of international law and the air space issue, I think it will all get resolved. International bodies don't want to see nonsense, like Somalia's desperate claims, go on longer than they have to.

'paper state' who? The one that yet again shattered your dreams? Lol It's never happening, stop begging the raw meat munchers next door and come to the table to talk.

This is some wrestling drama. No state has ever enforced their sovereignty through the air alone, not even in Northern Cyrpus which is considered to be an illegal military occupation by Turkey. Nothing will change.

This shows the priorities of Somalia. Such action might win the hearts of the population in Mogadishu, but hardly any love from Somaliland. How will they ever solve the real issue, by pushing Somaliland further away. It look like Somaliland is never coming.

Somaliland used the so-called nuclear option, what else the FGS should have done?

Taiwan technically doesn't have it's own airspace and even China isn't that petty. This is a petty move from a weak government. Hopefully there is full resolution to the Somaliland issue soon and we can have our sovereign airspace and fully recognized Somaliland.

You can see there, it was registered with ICAO when the recognized government was in Taiwan. The mainland government didn't delist it or try any funny business. Flights travel to Taiwan and they aren't forced to say China for example.
