The Somali Museum of Minnesota is the only museum in North America dedicated to preserving traditional Somali culture and art. Displaying a collection of over 700 cultural artifacts and offering immersive cultural education programming, the Somali Museum aims to connect past and present for all generations of Somali-Americans, and use culture and art to build bridges between Somalis and non-Somalis in Minnesota.
It is my understanding that Peace Corps Volunteers, who between us have probably the largest collection of Somalia photography from the 1960's, will have a table with many of our photos on display.
