The true inspiration of the Somali Flag- The Seal of the King

Somalis of the future shouldn’t forget the chaos and turmoil of the past, it should be a constant reminder. Hence the red backdrop instead of the blue.
We have the longest coast in Africa and the sky around Somalia is usually light blue.. all in all it's about the idea of nationhood.

How do we move forward if we are stuck with constant reminder of turmoil??

It’s a reminder of the perils of 78-91, how we should always keep this in mind so as to not be as careless as the previous generations.

Our coat of Arms however is indeed from colonial Italy💀
This is false there are no documents that show this "italian somaliland" coat of arms. Just the Somali sultanate's coat of arms and the italian ones in agreements. For international treaties it was just the regular italian coat of arms.

It's literally the old Italian somaliland coat of arms but with some tweaks. This nigga sharlaawe did a good video on it https://www.facebook.com/share/v/3H2XRx4Nmxs6LcTE/?mibextid=rG9iOd
This is total nonsense. There is zero proof that Somalia's flag was influences by the Italians. According to Mohames Awale, the flag designer himself, he was inspired by the UN, not Italy.

Furthermore, an issue I've noticed is that people are using the wikipesia renditions for the Italian coat of arms which changes its look and color. This is what the Italian coat of arms looked like.

Looks different, right?

here is a photo i found from an old thread. According to this photo this flag was first raised in hargeisa when the somaliland protectorate gained independence on the 26th of june 1960 before it joined somalia so I don't know how it would be inspired by the italian coat of arms. Any thoughts?

According to wikipedia a man from the majeerteen clan named mohammed awale Liban was the one who inspired the people from the british protectorate of somaliland to adopt this flag. According to another source apparently this flag was also inspired by the bonnie blue flag from the US as the UN helped to form the country of Somalia during its status as a trust territory from 1950–1960. Anyone has any sources on which one is true.

Our flag on many websites is describes as based on the UN flag. It's nice to see that isn't the case. I wish this was our coat of arms. I think it looks far more authentic.

I think both are a lie. Assuming the image above is true, we've been using the blue flag since pre colonialism. Even so, italian colonisers used a blue flag and white star for us during colonialism so it predates both explanations.

The flag was first raised in Mogadishu then in iskushuban (puntland) after that comes hargeisa. Technically tho the photo ain't wrong, the flag in hargeisa was the first in being raised in independent somali lands cuz the other two were raised during the UN trusteeship around 1954.

No that is not true, I've shown evidence that the somali was first raised in hargeisa, this is the Italian coat of arms that somalia and puntland had when they were an Italian colony that you are saying was raised before the flag in hargeisa. I've already showed you the real somali flag that was raised in hargeisa in 1960 when the somaliland protectorate gained independence, now if your claim is true provide evidence that the true somali flag was raised in somalia with a clear picture because anyone can make baseless claims.
