If that means Somaliland will be on most peoples' TV screens let the Houthis get bombed. And let them bomb us. fock it. We may be living in interesting times.
Somaliland is not going to be on anyone's tv. the situation in Yemen is rarely covered by mainstream media so nobody is going to care when those bastards greed plunges us into some godforsaken Arab proxy war. the rest of the world is just going to see it as Somalia being Somalia and finding a way to fall back into chaos.

why isn't the UAE flying the warplanes from their own country? better yet, set up a base right next to the Saudis on the Yemen border.
if this becomes a reality, watch what becomes of Somaliland, we'll be levelled. the Houthis aren't fighting with AK-47, they have whatever advanced weapons Iran has.

The UAE won't put up any missile defense systems anywhere in Somalia/SL it would only hurt us not the UAE, Yemen has been a long time ally and the UAE basically destroyed that, ictiraaf isn't coming sxb get real

Has there been any retaliations from the houthis to the eritreans for providing the base? :cosbyhmm:

You made some good points. However I'm Only betting on the fact that Somaliland is as big as the UK in terms of size and only has 5 or 4 cities that are barely visible both from air and distance.
And if worst comes to worst our people can just disperse into the countryside. Add that to the fact that the Houthis have only been on the defensive for the longer part of this war in which they have been fighting for their lives.

As I said, I find it repulsive that we have to engage ourselves in this mess. But it is much better to be a bad ass than to be some dormant docile state You know?

Yemen’s Houthi forces attack Eritrea’s Airport, Navy base : rebels

Eritrea and Yemen are very close to each other and have historic disputes on the Islands in between.

Also, the Saudi-Houthi conflicts are concentrated in the western side (near the coast) so it is safe to say that there are probably more spill over incidents but it won't be reported by Eritrea due to heavy media restriction. Probably the same goes for Djibouti.

Not to mention, both countries harbour bases for the Arab coalition so they will carefully hide all their activities from the general public.

So, Eritrea and Djibouti are more likely to be affected than Somalia due to close proximity with Yemen.
