There needs to be a big campaign for Somalis to learn Arabic

All Somalis in the world, especially the ones in the motherland, should speak and write fluent Arabic. How come more speak English than Arabic? This is not right. It is the language of the deen. There should be a big campaign to have everyone speak Somali within 5 years. It should become generational after that

Most Somalis are illiterate and can barely write in their mother tongue, we have more important things to worry about. English is the language of the world, to excel in business, science and tech one must know how to speak English. Arabic is important too but outside the deen has little religious schooling. I've noticed a fair number of schools back in the hooyoland teach in Arabic anyway. It's often one or the other. English or Arabic so a lot of kids know it through that.

they actually teach both. When I went for daqan celis at schools they would teach both but it was mostly reading and writing arabi while learning how to speak english

But I've heard of some schools that actually teach mainly in one or the other. As in they're not just teaching the kids Arabic or English but the curriculum in general is mainly taught in one of the two over Af-Soomaali.
