Atleast the jåreers are dancing to their music, cringe geeljires will be playing afrobeats in a 100% somali wedding. Cultural appropriation smh.

An aunt of mine called off her sons wedding with a Sudanese Beja girl because “the men wore henna on their hands”. Imagine going to the wedding of a “man” with his ears pierced.
Wallahi I just saw a tiktok of Sudanese guys saying they saw men with henna on growing up
:damn:
If the ajnabi wasn’t bad enough, the pierced ears would definitely make me walk out the wedding
:snoop:
I’m gonna assume she has no dad and a weak mom because how did this fly and become a big wedding
:noneck:

From what I've seen of Somali weddings, the women don't wear hijab only in the beginning when its just them and they do all the celebration. Then the men come and they go to the other side with their hijabs on and the bride and groom dance together and eat cake. This freemixing nonsense is degeneracy and is not our culture.

It is our culture and it always has been. Denial is not just a river in Egypt.

In what world has women dancing without hijab on the dance floor with men ever been a part of our culture? We are Muslim first and foremost.

????

Why are you pearl clutching lmao you don’t know your history. This was completely normalized before the war happened. My family have shared with me countless stories about how free mixing was completely normal and judgement free.

Would you like me to link vintage videos of women dancing in front of men?

This was a period of jahiliyyah present in Xamar during Kacaan. I can't believe you use this as an example, that was the result of western colonization and a communist dictator. Now Somalis are back to normal and practicing their deen properly. This would be completely unacceptable, and I can tell you haven't been to a wedding back home.
