@Apollo @Jimmer do you know why Australian aborigines and papuans look different if they’re both Melanesian? Is it environmental?

They split early on (tens of thousands of years ago) and there was almost no contact between them for a very long time. Only on the very northern edge of Australia (Torres Strait) was there some contact between the two.
