York-South Weston has only 2.0% Somali speakers but it is 20% "Black". It is more than 50% immigrant first or second generation, with Chinese and Spaniards as well. I think its more than 2.0% Somali speakers, more like 5%-10%. These Somalis don't fill out these municipal and national census counts.

Ahmed Hussen has the best chance of the other two Somalis of winning this riding. It has been Liberal since 1979 until in 2011 when it went to the socialist party. Ahmed is hoping to take it back for the Liberals. It is a liberal safe seat. A white guy is the current MP for York-South Weston.

The socialists are expected to have a big win this election nationally but that Somali guy Faisal who is running for them is trailing far behind the Liberals in his riding.

What is wrong with our community? Etobicoke North, Etobicoke Lakeshore, Etobicoke Centre, York South Weston all report native Somalis speakers in the single digits. Why don't they bother to fill out the muncipal census?

Its much more than that. Its not majority but the Somalis has to be the largest immigrant group there. There's thousands of Somalis just in the 5 Dixon buildings. None of it makes sense.

I have yet to visit Minneapolis and the only one not to in my family. I want to go see the place. Have you been there?

One of my uncles is one of the biggest Somali TV hosts there. They all seem quite successful

Not really. The Twin Cities has other pockets too. Cedar is to TC what Dixon is to Toronto. Plus, most Somalis in Toronto live in the West end, especially Etobicoke North and North York.
