I'm pretty sure 90% of those people if Shabaab was to be defeated and kicked out of that region they would forget Shabaab ideology and become normal people. Just like plenty of other regions like Xamar and Baydhabo which were once controlled by Shabaab but most people are just forced.

They live with Al Shabaab just so they can survive and live and not have to leave there homeland. But tommorow if the Fgs comes they will comply and live as well. They just respect the authority and whatever authority comes they will submit.

Baydhabo is completely encircled by Al Shabab. I can guarantee you the govt now or after HSM is not coming to Bay & Bakool.
