Thanks to Culusow's refusal to discipline SNM, Turkey is trying to force Somalia to give water access to Ethiopia.

All he had to do was make SNM lives more difficult and there would be no leverage (Berbera).

What’s the issue with this? As long as it’s purely business and ownership remains with Somalis it is good. Even if he wanted to HSM won’t give up a naval base unless he wants to be dragged in the streets like Gaddafi.

The only reason Ethiopia even has leverage is because of Culusow's refusal to discipline SNM. If he was a patriot, he would have parked an army in Awdal, an army in SSC and dared them to sign anything. He could make their lives a lot harder, but he's a mooryaan, and mooryaans are servile to SNM.

This is the real reason why Turkey even has the audacity to bring up "Access to Somalia's Waters" as a talking point.

There is no good news

Yes, massive L for Somalia, and a massive W for Ethiopia, who is just waiting to see where their new naval address is going to be. Ethiopia will have a naval base/access to the waters, through Berbera or Mogadishu. Or BOTH.


There would be ZERO leverage, if it wasn't for Culusow emboldening SNM. There would be ZERO need for Ethiopia's name to even be brought up. He refuses to discipline them, refuses to scare them, and we all know why.
