An undeniable intense attraction
A type of connection rooted in love and authenticity for that person that you can almost feel their presence and energy when that person is away and you can tell that other person is feeling the same.
You feel at home with that person and vice versa.
That connection you have with that person that make sense of why the previous relationships failed.

I can assumr that there are several reasons but I wanna hear yours

• The timing could be off.
• The relationship could threathen one or both parties sense of self-reliance. Particularly for those avoidants.
• There is a fear of engulfment and losing ones sense of identity to a relationship or it being too time consuming.

Alternatively, it could be done for self-protection. Be it increased need for self-work (like you said) or the new problems that will arise from moving things forward. For some reason, people think their current set of problems are easier to tackle than newer ones. People are sometimes committed to the status quo. And harbour the view of nothing ventured, nothing lost.

Loss is part and parcel with life but some people have certain paradigms leaning them toward "waiting for the rug to be pulled out from under them if things are going too well." Instead of being present they are catastrophizing.
