His behavior is common amongst light skin and mixed raced black men in the UK. I too grew up amongst madow men who acted like their own women were unattractive. He has got nothing to do with Somalis so bringing us up when only his maternal grandfather is Somali is ridiculous.

It's probably because mixed white people are actually seen as white as much as they are black, unlike the US. Which explain why Americans see it as pure self hate, the one drop rule has them confused. If someone is accepted into white society and is half white of course they'll carry white beliefs
