Reform being the 2nd biggest party in 3 out of 3 declared spots shows that they ain't a joke at all

Ngl it’s defo worse being Muslim compared to being black/African rn.

They genuinely see Muslims as a threat. So much of the Reform manifesto is just shade towards Muslims
Their loss at the end of the day of the day if they want more and more educated muslims to leave. They’re gonna have to recruit more Indian and phillipino migrants which defeats the whole purpose of the anti immigration movement 🤣

Reform didn't get anywhere near 20%.

What a cope :mjlol:
The exit poll has them taking about 17.2% of the overall vote. There were numerous polls over the past few weeks that had them pipping the Tories. They experienced a big uptick in votes after Farage took over

It's so strange to see the UK and France and other countries giving their people an early election when polls or other election results are disastrous for the incumbent but out of moral duty, they drop the writ. This would never happen in Canada, especially with our narcissist leader. They only do it when they're polling high. The Indian knew he was going to lose bad and still did it.

Wes streeting nearly lost his seat to Leanne Mohamed, very very close call, and commiserations to her, I feel she would’ve been a better representative for her constituency than Wes Streeting

The vast majority of the high-quality MRP polls had the tories comfortably ahead of reform.

With 90% of the vote counted, they have a 14% share of the popular vote, which is similar to UKIP's share in 2015.

If you look at the bigger picture, the vast majority of reform voters defected from the tories ( tories + reform vote = labour vote). This helped labour get a huge majority, despite only winning ~35% of the popular vote.

He could have just stepped down as leader then.

This Labour victory only occurred due to people voting Reform, splitting the vote with the Conservatives. The Labour vote share only increased by 1.5% since the last election and they only got a third of the vote but got a massive majority now. Less votes than even Jeremy Corbyn's disaster election. Nigel Farage was robbed. FPTP is a terrible system.

Labour were gonna win regardless. Reform vote increased a lot because Farage joined them recently, but labour were predicted to win a comfortable majority for a long time now.

Nothing could've saved the Tories from this defeat. They've been a disaster.

A lot of probable labour voters voted greens / lib Dems because we all knew labour were gonna win easily.

Btw, FPTP has historically favoured the tories. It's normally the progressive vote that's divided. Whichever way you look at it, the progressive vote dwarfs the votes for right wing parties

Regressives must have multiple parties as they're all lunatics in their own unique way. Only the right can be united but when you start acting like leftists and bring mass immigration (I saw London's transformation and even more crowdedness in the winter), voters will seek real conservatives. This election was clearly lost on mass immigration.

Nigel Farage got 4 million votes and just 4 seats. Liberal Democrats win over 70 with 3.5 million votes.

Not true. The UK's economic performance under the Tories has been tragic. Salaries today are at the same level as 2010, after accounting for inflation.

If immigration was the biggest issue, the combined vote of the rightwing parties would be a lot higher than 37% lol

Maybe people thought Labour will fix immigration. Many of their voters voted for Brexit and the new PM is a centrist.

Again, Labour only increased their vote share by 1.5%. It doesn't matter what past opinion polling reported as we have official election results. Opinion polling can be inaccurate like it was really wrong in Australia some years ago. If the economy was the main issue, Labour would have their increased vote share by a lot more. The results show angry conservatives punishing the party for not being true to conservative principles by voting for another conservative party and Labour benefited massively from the extreme vote split. Also many conservatives stayed home. Keir Starmer got less votes than Jeremy Corbyn, who had one of the worst election results in it's party's history.

The exit poll was too nice. Reform only got 5 seats instead of 13, and the Conservatives got 10 fewer seats, ending up with 121 instead of 131.
