No, the Wolayata's are not the closest thing to Somalis. Roughly half of their genes are Omotic. Somalis lack that aspect entirely.
I'm guessing most of these Wolayata samples were outliers. But it does not mean we should throw the baby out with the bathwater; the rest is more or less accurate.
That sample in the middle should be the best representation because it is in the middle of two extremes (as shown below), Ari, which represents the Omotic, and Somali the Cushitic.

The Somali peninsula (Greater Somalia) historically have always been inhabited by Somalis. Their ancestral homeland was in northern Somalia (Somaliland).
Oromos never lived anymore in Somalia prior to the Somalis.

That's an old theory been disproven. Somalis had no ties to southern Ethiopia. "US library" is just a pile of library records. Who is the historian? What's the book? That's what you call an unknown document.
