They're probably hoping for the courts to place an injunction on the law before the supreme court hears ByteDance's appeal. Maybe 50/50 to get the freezing? Also one thing to consider is the DC court that upheld the law consisted of 2 conservatives : 1 Liberal, similar to the supreme court's distribution, so they're probably losing that.

Or the Trump justice department can choose not to implement the law. Probably an ulcer inducing state of affairs for Tiktok but provides maximum leverage for MAGA to boost their message on the app and mold young minds. Long term the law would have to repealed by congressional vote for ByteDance to get any breathing room.

TikTok's bid to overturn a law which would see it banned or sold in the US from early 2025 has been rejected.

The social media company had hoped a federal appeals court would uphold its argument that the law was unconstitutional.

TikTok's lawyers told the court in September that a ban would have a "staggering" impact on the free speech of its 170 million US users.

But the court ruled the law "was the culmination of extensive, bipartisan action by the Congress and by successive presidents."

The law was "carefully crafted to deal only with control by a foreign adversary, and it was part of a broader effort to counter a well-substantiated national security threat posed by the PRC (People's Republic of China)," the ruling continues.

The US wants TikTok sold or banned because of what it says are its owners links to the Chinese state - links TikTok and parent company Bytedance have always denied.

Instagram Reels will just take all of TikTok’s users then , which will further Meta’s monopoly on social media .

I saw. Is not common but when I saw hate videos or a positive video about us the comment section was brutal. Instagram tripped worse. I pray shirts and reels also goes along with tiktok.

LMAAOOOO @Sigmundd was right for the first time I had one of those tiktok hate vids reach my instagram reels, my takeaway a lot of madows and racist whites don't like us but half the people liking are dumb kids (i caught someone i went to school with liking it), but some people in the comments were defending us cos of the recent somali pirate mog vids. We need more of them.
