Very random, but do you guys notice a lot of Somali people tend to have overbites in some capacity?

The decline in jaw strength, facial structure is happening across all populations. Not just Somalis. It’s no more common in Somalis than in any group consuming an industrialized diet. If orthodontics didn’t exist, overbites and narrow jaws would be widespread among ajnabis too. Let’s stop attributing these features to ethnicity and creating baseless narratives. Thanks to meanspirited and ragebaiting trolls online.

Many Somalis of old did not have large foreheads or narrow jaws. This isn’t something I’ve seen in my family either. What we’re witnessing now is the result of modern lifestyle factors. Such as, shorter breastfeeding durations or not at all, poor tongue posture, and diets high in processed foods and lower in key nutrients like vitamins A, D, E, and K. The long-term chewing required by traditional diets is missing too.

People aren’t factoring in proper child spacing, long-term breastfeeding, or the importance of tongue posture in facial development. Every generation is becoming less attractive than the one that proceeded it because of these and other modern shifts.
